What has Garnacho done? Man Utd Starlet Breaks new record

Manchester United starlet, Alejandro Garnacho becomes the youngest Manchester United player ever to assist twice in a game aged 17 years, 33 days. The youngster achieved this feat against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

Garnacho’s movement, pace and trickery caused Villa problems in the 4-2 victory. He already bagged a senior goal for the club against Real Sociedad.

And Marcus Rashford thinks Garnacho can become a United great. He said: “He (Garnacho) is full of energy and confidence. It’s refreshing to have someone like that on the bench, who can come on and make a big impact. It’s just the start for him. There’s a lot more goals to come.”

Garnacho is described as an exciting winger on the Man Utd website.

He is a lively front-runner who plays mostly on the left-hand side of attack since breaking into the Under-18s team.

Garnacho has enjoyed prolific goalscoring form in the 2021/22 season, with notable performances in the Under-18s’ FA Youth Cup run. The Madrid-born winger scored twice in the quarter-final against Leicester City at Old Trafford, having also netted in games against Everton and Scunthorpe United at the Theatre of Dreams. He also played a key role in helping the Under-19s to the UEFA Youth League last-16.

On 28 April 2022, Garnacho made his senior debut for the Reds when he came on as an injury-time substitute, replacing Anthony Elanga, in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in Premier League.

Today, in the EFL Cup third-round game against Aston Villa, Garnacho helped the Red Devils secure victory at home by providing 2 assists while coming off the bench. That’s exactly what stars do!!!
