FIFA 23 rating: How Messi toppled Ronaldo as Mbappe and Benzema maintain top spot
It is something football lovers and gamers long for every year and as usual EA sports has doused fans’ anticipation as they reveal the first batch of FIFA 23 ratings.
The scheduled release of this latest edition is on September 30, 2022, it will be available to play across the majority of consoles and is packed full of new features.
However, the best players have been revealed with Lionel Messi peaking above Cristiano Ronaldo in rating while Mbappe, Benzema and Lewandoski top the chart. The best 23 players in FIFA 23 have been revealed – and some of the decisions are bound to spark debate.
Marquinhos | PSG | 88

Marquinhos is the second-best center-back in FIFA 23 and is sure to be in high demand on Ultimate Team this season due to his high pace and defending attributes.
Toni Kroos | Real Madrid | 88

It is hard to remember a time when Kroos wasn’t dominating the midfield for Real Madrid. His set-piece delivery makes the German a real danger in the game.
Erling Haaland | Manchester City | 88

Haaland’s card looks scarily good this season. The striker can do it all and is bound to bang in a load of goals for your team.
Jan Oblak | Atletico Madrid | 89

Oblak is not quite the best goalkeeper in FIFA 23 – but he is not far off the honour. He will take some beating regardless.
N’Golo Kante | Chelsea | 89

Kante is not the best in an attacking sense, but in terms of defending few midfielders can hold a candle to his incredible attributes.
Ederson | Manchester City | 89

Pep Guardiola has claimed that Ederson could play the outfield if he wanted to. In FIFA 23 you can make this a reality if you wish.
Harry Kane | Tottenham | 89

Kane’s shooting attributes are going to turn a lot of heads in FIFA 23. If only he was that little bit quicker.
Alisson | Liverpool | 89

Alisson is looking wonderfully rounded on this iteration of FIFA and he is set to you back a pretty penny on Ultimate Team.
Casemiro | Manchester United | 89

New club, same old Casemiro. The Brazilian is once again looking very tasty on FIFA 23 with his physical attributes standing out.
Joshua Kimmich | Bayern Munich | 89

Kimmich is one of the most well-rounded footballers of all time – and his FIFA card reflects this jack-of-all-trades nature.
Sadio Mane | Bayern Munich | 89

Mane’s summer switch to Bavaria has not affected his attributes. He is a must-have for any looking to build a Bundesliga Ultimate Team.
Son Heung-min | Tottenham | 89

Son has again reached parity with his Spurs partner in crime, Kane, on FIFA 23. Quite right, too. The South Korean enjoyed an incredible 2021-22 season.
Neymar | Paris Saint-Germain | 89

Neymar has begun the 2022-23 season in amazing form. Keep this up and his FIFA rating is destined to reach the 90s once more.
Manuel Neuer | Bayern Munich | 90

Aging like a fine wine, Neuer has risen to be the joint-best goalkeeper in FIFA this year.
Thibaut Courtois | Real Madrid | 90

And Courtois is the man with whom Neuer shares the honour of being the highest-rated shot-stopper in the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo | Manchester United | 90

Ronaldo’s 2021-22 season was not one of his best – but EA Sports have kept him as one of the elite forwards in FIFA 23.
Virgil van Dijk | Liverpool | 90

Van Dijk is again the best defender in the game – and few could argue that he does not deserve the honour.
Mohamed Salah | Liverpool | 90

Salah will be a complete nightmare to defend against in FIFA 23. Just look at those dribbling and shooting attributes.
Lionel Messi | Paris Saint-Germain | 91

In a decision that will no doubt cause absolutely any debate whatsoever, Messi is rated higher than Ronaldo on FIFA 23.
Kevin De Bruyne | Manchester City | 91

The second member of the 91-rated club is De Bruyne, who enjoyed another spectacular season for Manchester City last time out.
Kylian Mbappe | Paris Saint-Germain | 91

Good luck catching Mbappe on FIFA 23. That combination of pace and dribbling will be deadly.
Robert Lewandowski | Barcelona | 91

If you are looking for a focal point for your Liga Ultimate Team, you have two choices. The first is Barcelona’s newbie Lewandowski.
Karim Benzema | Real Madrid | 91

And the second is Benzema, who looks set to win his maiden Ballon d’Or in 2023. Good luck choosing between the pair.
