Why I cannot join Chelsea – Everton Star Gordon finally reveals why he declined transfer move
More details from the transfer moves are yet to be revealed, however, Everton star, Anthony Gordon finally opened up on his failed £60 million move to Chelsea.
Gordon said he does not think himself or any other footballer is worth £60m and believes the figures were ‘crazy’.
The 21-year-old England star became a late target for the Blues at the backend of August and some pundits thought Chelsea was crazy to price the youngster such a huge sum of money.
Reports in Europe said that the Blues were prepared to pay as much as £60million for the 21-year-old, which would have made him one of the most expensive British players ever.

Gordon said he was also surprised by the sums being reported.
Asked about Chelsea’s approach, Gordon said: “That’s football nowadays – it’s absolutely crazy.
“Personally, I don’t think any player is worth that amount of money but I’m also not going to talk myself down.
“The money in football, that’s just how it is nowadays. I wasn’t too focused on that because I can only control what I can control.
“That’s part and parcel of football. When you’re doing well, there’s always going to be that speculation.”
Gordon insisted he was not desperate to leave Everton because Goodison Park has been good to him, adding that he had to stay.
