Champions League: Chelsea receives boost as opponent shares disappointing news
Chelsea has received a boost ahead of their Champions League encounter with the Italian side, AC Milan, as the opponent is dealing with critical player injuries.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Football.London), AC Milan are handicapped by injuries to key players ahead of their Champions League match against Chelsea in a week.
Sandro Tonali and Theo Hernandez were injured during the international break, and former Liverpool strikers Divock Origi and Ante Rebic are also doubts for the game at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday.
The former is almost certainly going to miss this encounter.
Tonali, as a precaution, left the Italian national team training. Milan are hoping he will be able to play against Empoli this weekend before traveling to London to face Chelsea.
Hernandez, on the other hand, did not travel with France to the UEFA Nations League games. Instead, he stayed in Milan to recover from a muscle ailment.

According to reports, the French international will miss the Empoli game and is doubtful for the Chelsea game.
Rebic is set to resume training this week, but he hasn’t played competitive football since August.
As a result, he would naturally need some time to recover before joining the matchday squad.
Former Chelsea players Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori have been cleared to play when Milan visits Stamford Bridge.
The two will have added incentive to perform well against their previous employers.
The Blues are off to a shaky start in the Champions League. They are at the bottom of the standings with one point from two group games.
If they are to move up and finish in the top two, they will almost certainly need to win at home against Milan, with the rematch a week later at the San Siro being equally essential.
