Ballon d’ Or: Kaka names favorite for this year award
Ballon d’Or winner and former Real Madrid midfielder, Ricardo Kaka, has clearly stated that France forward, Karim Benzema is the player that deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
However, Kaka made it known that being the favourite doesn’t mean you’ve won the award because it is not given on sentiments but procedures and facts.
Speaking to MARCA, Kaka said: “I think he is a very favorite although you can never say one hundred percent that they are going to give it to him.
“Karim is now a very complete player and the award would be well deserved.”
Kaka himself won the Ballon d’Or back in 2007 while he was playing for AC Milan.

The former Brazilian international was also teammates with Ronaldo at Real Madrid for four seasons before making a move to AC Milan.
However, in an interview with MARCA, Kaka, a 2007 Ballon d’Or winner, named his compatriot Neymar as his current favourite player.
He said, “I don’t know if it’s because we have a great personal relationship, but I love how Neymar plays.
“Of course, I like to see others like Mbappé, Messi, Cristiano or Vinicius himself, but I will stick with ‘Ney’.”
