Atletico Madrid releases new transfer details on Joao Felix as Chelsea opts for permanent stay
Chelsea has received a new transfer secret clause for loanee, Joao Felix as the club seeks a permanent transfer for the Portuguese forward.
Joao Felix is currently serving a 6 months loan spell at the London Club. However, the Blues have the desire to keep him for much longer and it is clear that it pleases the young talent to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United earlier this month, but after Chelsea entered the race, he decided to join Stamford Bridge.
The West Londoners are expected to pay the Spanish giants approximately £9 million for the six-month loan of Felix, who was observed by the club’s scouts on multiple occasions prior to the agreement.
Despite having only played 57 minutes for Chelsea, the Portugal international appears to be destined for greatness.
Initially, it was revealed that Atletico did not wish to include a buyout option for Todd Boehly in Felix’s contract. Since then, however, The Athletic has reported otherwise, providing the Blues with tremendous summertime assurance.

According to the report, Felix’s contract contains a clause that “allows for a permanent transfer in the summer.” If the forward continues to perform well until the end of the season, it would appear that Chelsea has the upper hand.
However, it must be noted that the clause’s specifics regarding whether it is a first-option or option-to-buy are unknown. Felix, who served a three-match suspension for receiving a red card against Fulham, will make his return in Friday, February 3’s rematch.
Graham Potter appears to be a huge admirer of the Portuguese celebrity. The Chelsea manager addressed the press upon Felix’s arrival, stating:
“He’s a quality player, can make a difference in the final third of the pitch, young but has obviously had a lot of really good experience. He’s a quality player that gives everyone a lift.”
Felix, speaking with the official Chelsea website, stated: “Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge.”
After Mykhailo Mudryk’s impressive debut against Liverpool, the Ukrainian appears poised to develop an exciting rapport with Felix on the field. Not to mention Noni Madueke’s arrival as well.
