28-year-old once said he loves playing with Raheem Sterling, now Chelsea want to sign him
Journalist Christian Falk has claimed Chelsea are interested in launching an extraordinary bid to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
The England captain enjoyed another stellar campaign last time out, helping Spurs to a top four finish on the final day over London rivals Arsenal.
However, he could have not featured for them at all as he pushed hard to secure a move away from the club, eventually failing in his efforts.
Because of this, Falk has said Chelsea’s interest has peaked, although they believe the sale abroad is a more likely scenario.
Chelsea intrigued by Kane
He tweeted: “TRUE: Harry Kane is very interesting for Chelsea. but the Club believes that Spurs would prefer to sell Kane to a Club like Bayern instead to a English competitor if Kane won‘t sign a new contract at Tottenham.”
The one shred of hope the Blues could have to completing a deal is down to their earlier business, in particular the signing of Raheem Sterling.
The pair are regulars together up top for England, and the 28-year-old has claimed before that the former Manchester City man is “a joy to play with.”
With that being said, the project currently under way under Antonio Conte is exciting, with Daniel Levy seemingly finally backing a manager to give them a good opportunity at success.
The Blues are reportedly making signing a striker one of their main priorities in the last few weeks of the transfer window, opening the door for Timo Werner to leave the club.
While it is unclear who they will currently target up top, a move for a winger is a lot more likely, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Wilfried Zaha linked to moves to Stamford Bridge.
